Indian River Firefighters to host three 9/11 Observance Ceremonies

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Firefighters Association, sponsors of the annual Firefighters Indian River County Fair and other community events, will present three Indian River County 9/11 Observance Ceremonies on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, the 10th anniversary of the tragic event.

The Firefighters Association will host three separate events that day to meet the needs of all our citizens who wish to remember those that gave so much that fateful day.

The first event will be held on Sunday morning September 11 beginning at 8:30 am at Veterans Memorial Island Sanctuary. The program will last approximately 45 minutes, with guest speakers and music provided by the United States Navy Band Southeast from NAS Jacksonville. It will also recognize and feature all Indian River County Public Safety Honor Guard Units.

Later on Sunday, they will host two identical presentations at Riverside Theatre; at 4 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. that evening. The ceremonies at Riverside Theatre will each last about two hours.

All events are free of charge, and will be very solemn and dignified befitting the memory of 9/11.

Tickets for the Riverside Theatre performances will be available beginning Monday, Aug. 29 at the theatre box office at 3250 Riverside Park Drive. The box office number is (772) 231-6990.
