INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Despite
questionable weather this weekend due to Hurricane Irene, several
events hope to see the public turn out. Activities include a
Mulligan’s Back to School Fun fundraiser Thursday, a Summer Sizzler
Stroll in Vero Beach Friday, the anniversary of Women’s Equality in
Fellsmere Saturday and a Main Street Vero Beach market Sunday.
Ongoing
- The Sebastian River Art Club exhibit “Fabulous Fakes,” an art
show honoring and emulating the “Masters,” at the City of
Sebastian’s new Working Waterfront, in the rear section of
Crab-E-Bill’s Indian River Seafood Market.
- The Art House Exhibit runs through Sept. 17 at Intrepid
Gallery, Pelican Plaza on A-1-A in Vero Beach.
Thursday
- The Senior Resource Association invites those who are
interested in learning more about the Silver Tones Chorus and its
new Silver Tones Chorus Director, Allen Rosenberg to Introduction
Night beginning at 3:15 p.m. at the Schumann Hall Senior Center in
Vero Beach.
- Mulligan’s Back to School Fun – bring school supplies to
benefit local school drives. From 5 – 8 p.m. kids eat free and 20
percent of proceeds are donated to charity.
Friday
- Summer Sizzler Stroll in the 3D (Downtown Dine & Design)
District, 5 to 8 p.m. featuring galleries, shops and restaurants in
and around 14th Avenue in historic downtown Vero Beach.
- Meet the Locals Pottery Show opening reception, 5 – 9 p.m. at
the Flametree Clay Art Gallery on 14th Avenue in Vero Beach
featuring works of local clay artists.
Saturday
- Farmer’s Market Oceanside, 8 a.m. to noon at the corner of
Ocean Drive and Dahlia Lane, across from Humiston Park in Vero
Beach.
- The Indian River County Recreation Department is hosting a
Punt, Pass, and Kick competition from 9 a.m. to Noon on Sampson
Field at the 16th Street Sports Complex (across from Vero Beach
High School) for both boys and girls ranging from ages 6 to
15.
- Indian River NOW celebrates 91st anniversary of Women’s
Equality Day at Marsh Landing Restaurant. 11 a.m.

- Main Street Vero Beach Sunday (Farmers) Market from 10 a.m. to
3 p.m.at the corner of 14th Avenue & 21st Street.
