Knock down some pins at Habitat for Humanity Bowl to Build Tournament

VERO BEACH — The Bowl to Build Tournament to support Indian River Habitat for Humanity’s Scholarship Fund will take place Sunday, Oct. 23 in the state-of-the-art Vero Bowl facility, 929 14th Lane, Vero Beach. Check-in begins at 1 p.m. and the games get under way at 1:45 p.m.

You can register as an individual or as a four or five player team. The $30 per person fee includes three games of bowling, shoe rental and a T-shirt. There will be contests and prizes.

The Habitat Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support for students of Habitat homeowners seeking to further their education.

St. Ed’s 2014 Middle School Golf team has only four regular season matches scheduled with two schools before the championship of the Treasure Coast Athletic Conference is determined at a tournament scheduled for April 28. The Pirates have already defeated the Pine School twice with two matches remaining against St. Joseph’s, including the makeup of a rainout. When Matt Jones takes a look at the long jump pit before one of his attempts in his best track and field event, he knows that a quick sprint could lead to a successful jump.
