INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – A Tornado Warning has been issued for Indian River County until 4:30 p.m. for eastern Indian River County, including Sebastian, Vero Beach, Winter Beach, Wabasso, Indian River Shores and Gifford.
At 3:26 p.m., National Weather Service meteorologists detected a
severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near Winter
Beach moving east at 5 mph.
This storm showed signs of rotation and could produce a tornado at
any time.
Residents are encouaraged to stay indoors, away from windows and monitor weather reports. If possible, get to the ground floor.
