Vendors and sponsors sought for Bubbles, Bags and Bling for Classy Chicks fundraiser

VERO BEACH — Sunshine Physical Therapy volunteers, Diane Dzadony, Joe Erikson and Diane Steelman have been hard at work in planning the next Bubbles, Bags and Bling for Classy Chicks event to benefit the non-profit organization.

Mark your calendar for Sunday, December 11 at the Heritage Center – shopping hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy a glass of wine and canapés as you buy Bling for someone special – even if it’s YOU.

Sponsorships and vendors are needed and appreciated. Gold Bling – $1000, Emerald Bling – $500, Ruby Bling – $100 and Opal Bling -$50.

VERO BEACH — A man was jailed after police said he stabbed another man following an argument over a seating table arrangement at a popular island eatery during a New Year's celebration. The wounded man was taken by ambulance to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, officials said. Michael Anthony Gaudiani, 66, of Seagrape Lane, Vero Beach, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Gaudiani was released Tuesday from the Indian River County Jail on a $100,000 bond. Vero Beach breaks daily rainfall record from weekend storms

Vero Beach broke the daily rainfall record after drenching showers slammed Florida and other parts of the east coast over the weekend, meteorologists said. Wet weather was not in the forecast this week, but could return with a 40 percent chance of showers next Monday - Christmas Day, meteorologists say. "It will continue to stay dry through much of tomorrow," said Derrick Weitlich, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Melbourne. "Rain chances will pick up as we get closer to the weekend." Weather experts reported 2.13 inches of rainfall in Vero Beach on Saturday. Palm Bay woman charged in fatal Sunday hit-and-run crash

VERO BEACH — A Palm Bay woman who police said fatally struck a man walking along Indian River Boulevard, stopped to switch seats with a passenger in the car and then continued traveling northbound, was jailed Sunday. The driver, Shanice Person, told officers she became aware she struck something large in the middle of the road that was likely alive and could possibly be a person, reports show. "She said that she was so intoxicated that she didn't know what she hit, so she kept driving and stopped the car near 37th Street," police said in an arrest report.
