Remnants of Tropical Storm Emily have ‘high chance’ of regenerating

What’s left of Tropical Storm Emily has a “high chance” of regenerating, according to National Hurricane Center forecasters.

The low pressure area associated with the remnants of the storm has a 70 percent chance of reorganizing and turning into a tropical depression, which could spawn a tropical cyclone.

Currently the low pressure is centered north of Andros Island in the Bahamas. According to the National Hurricane Center, satellite images and radar indicate that the area has become a “little better” organized.

An Air Force plane is expected to investigate the low pressure area later today.

Even if the low pressure region doesn’t develop into something more, forecasters say it will bring squalls and locally heavy rainfall to the northwest Bahamas as it moves north into the Atlantic.

The low could bring rain to Florida but as of yet there are no watches or warning for the state or the Treasure Coast.
