VERO BEACH — The 65-piece Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will present its final concert of its Summer Series at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 7 at the Community Church of Vero Beach, 1901 23rd Street, 32960.
At the movies, nothing heightens the suspense, enhances the romance, and ratchets up the thrills more than the music. From the earliest days of the cinema, filmmakers have turned to composers to help bring their art to life. Now you can hear that music performed at the SCSO Summer Finale, Film Music Spectacular. Featuring modern film scores such as Chronicles of Narnia, Spiderman, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Forrest Gump, this is a program that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Saxophonist Frank Tuckwiller joins the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra to perform John Williams’ charming and captivating Escapades for Saxophone and Orchestra based on his film score for Catch Me if You Can.
Tuckwiller has soloed at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Folger Theater, the Chrysler Museaum and the Carpenter Performing Arts Center and performed with such groups as The United States Army Band (Pershing’s Own), the Asaph Ensemble, the Richmond Symphony and Sinfonia, and was a founding member of the Richmond Saxophone Quartet. He was selected as the saxophone soloist for the world premiere of Kavanaugh’s opera The Last Supper in Washington, D.C.
“I have been looking forward to this program for quite some time,” said Conductor Aaron Collins. “I grew up listening and enjoying movie scores. This is edge-of-the-seat music that is full of emotion and power.”
