Scouts take over Operation Hope this Saturday for Loop-A-Looza

FELLSMERE — Operation Hope in Fellsmere will be overrun on Saturday as the Indian River County Cub Scouts descend on the facility in search of merit loops to add to their belts.

The Cub Scouts Loop-A-Looza will run for three hours, from 9 a.m. to Noon, and will incorporate numerous activities for the boys to participate in.

The Scouts will get a piece of NASA Space Shuttle history by collecting Crawlerway rocks as part of their Geology Belt Loop activity. They will dig for real Peace River fossils, play badminton, use maps and compasses, play music and more.

Scouts are encouraged to bring a Back to School item with them to the event to help Operation Hope’s Backpack Giveaway coming in August.

Operation Hope is located at 12285 County Road 512, Fellsmere.
