Gearing up for Walk to Remember

VERO BEACH — Organizers are gearing up for the 8th Annual Walk to Remember to benefit the Alzheimer & Parkinson Association at Riverside Park in Vero Beach.

This year, the event will be held will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the walk starts 8:30 a.m.

Everyone who participates helps make a difference in the lives of families struggling with Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s diseases.

‘Bark in the Park’ canceled amid COVID-19 concerns

VERO BEACH — Another family-fun event that attracts thousands of people and their dogs each year has been canceled amid COVID-19 public health concerns. The eighth annual 'Bark in the Park' event, hosted by the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County, has been shut down, agency officials announced last Tuesday on Facebook. ‘Turkey Trot’ stuffed with runners, fixin’ to fight poverty

Several thousand people poured into Riverside Park bright and early Thanksgiving morning for the 11th annual Thanksgiving Day 5K Trot Against Poverty. Affectionately known as the Turkey Trot, participants in the hugely popular event come to share their good fortune by helping to provide a happier holiday for the hundreds of individuals and families assisted by United Against Poverty.
