Herman Ray Williams, 85, died July 16, 2011, at VNA Hospice in Vero Beach.
He was born in Dallas and lived in Sebastian for 14 years.
He was a retired Marine Corps gunnery sergeant of World War II, serving in the Pacific.
After retirement, he was an entrepreneur in California and Arizona.
He moved to Cincinnati, where he was a columnist, editor, cartoonist and artist for a small newspaper.
He was a member of the Italian-American Club, the Eagles, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10210 and other military organizations.
Survivors include his wife of eight years, Judy Williams; sons, Steve Williams, of Arizona, and Dallas Williams and Larry Williams, both of California; four stepchildren; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda K. Smith; and son, Danny Ray Williams.
Memorial services will be at a later date at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10210 in Sebastian.
