INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — An 11-year-old boy in Vero Lake Estates ran home to his mother after he says a man in a green vehicle pulled up beside him in the community and asked him if he wanted to get into the vehicle, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office reported Friday afternoon.
The Sheriff’s Office has classified the incident as a “possible attempted abduction.” Once the boy was approached by the subject, he ran home and told his mother, who reported the incident at about 1:13 p.m.
The incident occurred in the area of 104th Avenue and 77th Street. The vehicle is described as a medium tone green, Sport Track Explorer with the steering wheel on the passenger side.
The man who approached the child was described as a male suspect approximately 30 years old with a tan complexion and black hair.
He was seen wearing a long-sleeve, black zippered top with white horizontal lines across the chest.
The man also had a tattoo on his right hand in a circle shape with an unknown design.
