Jean Coulter Crane, 78, of Vero Beach, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Crane was born Sep. 14, 1932, in Kansas City, Mo.
In 1986, she and her late husband James Mitchell Crane moved from San Francisco, Calif., to Vero Beach, where they became members of John’s Island Club.
Crane volunteered for many years, caring for patients in the Emergency Room at Indian River Medical Center.
She was a supporter of the Indian River Medical Center Foundation and a longstanding member of the Architectural Review Board of John’s Island.
She loved her sports especially football, and was an avid tennis player and golfer.
She was generous and compassionate amongst her family, friends and those of the Vero Beach, John’s Island and Oak Harbor communities.
Survivors include her daughters Lulie Peters Arnold, of Vero Beach; Reid Izaguiere, of New York; son Rafe Peters, of San Francisco, Calif.; brother James Coulter, of VA; step daughters, Diana Citret, of Ketchum, Ind.; Pamela Crane of Haley, Ind.; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mitchell Crane.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at John’s Island Cemetery in Vero Beach.
