CenterState Bank breaks ground for new building

VERO BEACH – CenterState Bank has broken ground for a new 14,000-square-foot building that is expected to be completed next spring.

The bank opened its first area branch in Vero Beach, at 801 20th Place, just west of U.S. 1 between State Road 60 east and west.

The new facility will be diagonally across the street, and will be built by Summit Construction, headquartered in Vero Beach.

“We made an effort to focus on a local contractor in Summit Construction, who will utilize local sub-contractors for the construction of the new building,” said Chris Bieber, CenterState vice president of commercial lending. “We feel strongly about supporting our local community.”

The new facility will consist of two stories with the bank occupying the first floor and the second floor available for lease.

In addition to adding the services of safe deposit boxes, it will have four drive-through lanes and a drive-up ATM.

“The new building will be the hub for our Treasure Coast expansion,” said Andy Beindorf, regional president of general banking, and a member of the CenterState management team.

“Our first year in Vero Beach has surpassed all expectations. While we move forward with the new building, we will be continuing our expansion; the first of which will be a new branch located in Fort Pierce, which has already received regulatory approval,” Beindorf added.

CenterState’s Treasure Coast Region is staffed primarily of former Indian River National Bank (IRNB) employees.

Beindorf was president of Indian River National Bank before it was acquired by Royal Bank of Canada.

CenterState Bank, an independent Florida-based bank, is rated four stars, by BauerFinancial, an independent bank rating and research firm in Coral Gables.

Beindorf said it is the highest rated bank in the area.
