Sarah Little Howard, 52, died June 18, 2011, at her home.
She was born in Baltimore and was a former resident of Vero Beach since 1987.
She was the membership secretary for the John’s Island Club from 1989 to 2007.
She was member of Grace United Methodist Church in Baltimore and attended Christ-by-the-Sea United Methodist Church in Vero Beach.
She was a member of the Indian River Medical Center Auxiliary and the Vero Beach Art Club and founder of Girl Scout Brownie Troop 675.
In 1970, she was the recipient of a pedagogic scholarship for classical piano at the Peabody Institute Preparatory School of Music.
She was a graduate of Towson Stratford Business College.
Survivors include her daughter, Carah Elizabeth Yarema, of Vero Beach; mother, Bettie Jean Howard, of Baltimore; fiancé, James Douglas Yates, of Greenville; sisters, Amanda Martin, of Sacramento, Calif., Mary Kay Strobel, of Charlestown, R.I., and Elizabeth Shaner, of Baltimore; and brother, Roderick S. Howard, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley L. Howard.
