Virgil Appling “Virg” Willms, 86, died June 27, 2011, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
He was born in Royal, Ill., and lived in Sebastian for 18 years, coming from Miami.
He obtained his associate degree from Embry-Riddle in Miami.
He was an aeronautical mechanic employed with Eastern Airlines in Miami for 25 years.
He was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian, and a member of the Eastern Airlines Retirement Association.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Kathryn “Katie” Willms, of Sebastian; and brother, Albert Willms, of Urbana, Ill.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. June 30 at Strunk Funeral Home in Sebastian.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. July 1 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church with the Rev. John Morrissey, celebrant.
Burial will be at Sebastian Cemetery in Sebastian.
