Alfred Edward Stasonis, 88, of Vero Beach, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at his home in Vero Beach.
Stasonis was born September 5, 1922, in Waterbury, Conn., and moved to Vero Beach in 1991 from Naugatuck, Conn.
He had been a machinist and foreman at Anchor Fasteners in Waterbury and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and the Choraliers of Vista Plantation in Vero Beach.
He was also a member of the VFW and Elks Lodge in Waterbury.
Survivors include two sons Robert Stasonis, of North Reading, Mass., and William Stasonis, of Waterbury, Conn; two daughters Maggie Enderle, of Vero Beach, and Kathie Flynn, of Laguna Beach, Calif.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Katherine Stasonis.

A Mass will be celebrated 12 p.m., Monday, July 4, 2011, at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury, Conn., at a time to be determined.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach, Florida.
