Joan La Rosa, 76, died June 24, 2011, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.
She was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and lived in Sebastian for 19 years, coming from Maywood, N.J.
She obtained her degree in nursing from Bergen Community College, N.J.
Before retiring, she was a registered nurse at Indian River Estates.
She was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian.
She was a former member of the Italian-American Club, Sebastian.
Survivors include her son, Peter La Rosa, of Sebastian; daughters, Alice La Rosa, of Sebastian, Laura Green, of Clifton, N.J., Joan La Rosa, of Totowa, N.J., and Theresa Natale, of Maywood, N.J.; brother, Richard Hopkins, of Sebastian; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rocky La Rosa; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. June 29 at Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. June 30 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian, with the Rev. John Morrissey as celebrant.
Burial will follow at Sebastian Cemetery.
