Joseph Mezzina, 85, died June 24, 2011, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.
He was born in Venice, Italy, lived in Vero Beach for 40 years and was formerly of Bayside, Queens, N.Y.
Before retiring, he worked in the food import business for 30 years in Queens, N.Y., and was a homebuilder in Vero Beach.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Grace Mezzina, of Vero Beach; sons, Frank Mezzina, of Vero Beach and Joseph Mezzina, of Tallahassee; sisters, Mina, Yolanda, Italia and Loredana; and brothers, Stefano and Nunzio.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. June 27 at Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. June 28 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach, with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce.
