Jo Yerian Moore, 81, died from lung cancer Sunday June 12, 2011, in Atlanta, Ga.
She was born in Cambridge, Ohio on Oct. 29, 1929, daughter of the late Ralph W. and Harriet B. (Noble) Yerian and has lived in Vero Beach since 1981.
Prior to living in Vero Beach, she lived in Pompano Beach for 10 years.
Raised in New Jersey, her first employment was with Chicago Title Ins. Co. in Hackensack, N.J., and later she joined Commonwealth Land Title Ins. Agency, as secretary/treasurer, also in Hackensack, N.J.
In 1962, she married William R. Moore in Cambridge, Ohio.
While living in Framingham, Mass., in 1965 she joined Pete, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. in the Wellesley Hills office as secretary to three actuaries.
In 1967 they transferred to Lewiston, Maine, where she took the position as secretary to the director of nursing at The Central Maine General Hospital.
In June 1972, she joined Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation at the Deerfield Beach Office.
Later in 1981 she accepted a transfer to the Vero Beach Office as senior escrow officer with Lawyers Title and retired on November 1, 1991.
In 2001, she worked for Island Palms Realty until 2003.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William R. (Bill) Moore, on March 13, 1988.
Survivors include many close friends and two cousins, Melanie Couchman, of Atlanta, Ga., and Jan Meighen, of Columbus, Ohio.
There will be a graveside service on June 23, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach.
