Miriam Elizabeth Seffens, 100, died June 8, 2011, at her home.
She was born in Decatur, Ill., and lived in Sebastian for 35 years, coming from Chicago.
She received her bachelor’s degree in education and taught until she was 91.
She was a member of Shiloh Tabernacle Church in Roseland, where she played the piano for Sunday services.
Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth M. Hope, of St. Louis Park, Minn., and Grace Jean Engnell, of Minneapolis; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Ray Hugh Seffens.

Visitation will be from 9:15 to 10 a.m. June 12 at Shiloh Tabernacle Church in Sebastian followed by a service at 10:45 a.m. at the church with the Rev. James J. Hinkle officiating.
Burial will be at Shiloh Youth Ranch Cemetery.
