Frederick R. Edmunds, 85, of Vero Beach, died Sunday, June 5, 2011, at his home.
Edmunds was born Aug. 23, 1925, in Rochester, N.Y., and moved to Vero Beach as a full time resident in 2006 from Gettysburg, Pa.
He was a graduate of the University of Rochester and Cornell Law School and served in the Army Air Corp in World War II and the Air Force during the Korean War.
He was a partner in the law firm of Gary, Cahill, Edmunds & Breslin in Albany, N.Y.
After residing in Voorheesville, N.Y., for 40 years, he and his wife moved to Gettysburg, Pa., to establish the Confederate States Armory and Museum.
He was of the Presbyterian faith.
Survivors include children Stephanie Adams (David), of Atlanta, Ga.; Dr. Geoffrey Edmunds (Lynn), of Albany, N.Y.; Linda Friedrich, of Ft. Pierce; Dr. Frederick Edmunds (Peggy), of Victor, N.Y.; Emme Edmunds, of Ithaca, N.Y.; Thomas Edmunds, of Schoharie, N.Y.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Nancy I. Edmunds in 2009.
