Sebastian churches to brings hope to children in Uganda

SEBASTIAN — Crossroads Christian Fellowship and Coastal Community Church are partnering to help children in the remote regions of Uganda.

A team of skilled volunteers will travel to Uganda on June 27. During the 10-day trip, they will support the ongoing work of Gospel Messengers based out of Kampala, Uganda.

Gospel Messengers loves and cares for over 3,000 children who are orphaned or living in extreme poverty. They operate eight schools, three homes, and a fully functioning farm in order to meet the tremendous needs these children face on a daily basis.

The primary goal for this trip is to build a new school building in Lugazi, Uganda, to replace a mud and stick building that is in disrepair.

Some team members will be caring for the needs of the children including facilitating fun events and crafts.

The cost for this trip is significant, but the value of changing children’s lives in Uganda is a priceless mission.

The team has already raised $10,000 to cover the cost of the new school but is still accepting donations to cover traveling expenses.

The team is also collecting specific school supplies to help the schools in Uganda.

Here are just a few items that are needed: Pens (300 red and 300 blue), Crayons (200 packs), Markers (45 chisel), Scotch Tape (15), cotton swabs (3 bags), medical gloves (4 packs), Soccer Balls (32), Volleyballs (16), Basketballs (8).
