Stuart E. Thomas, 89, died June 5, 2011, at Windmill Manor in Coralville, Iowa.
He was born in Kilbourn, Wis., and lived in Vero Beach for seven years, coming from Inverness.
He was a veteran of World War II.
Before retirement, he was a building engineer for Broward County.
He was a member of the Harold B. Larkin American Legion Post 187 in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., for 55 years and Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Vero Beach.
Survivors include his sons, Stuart, of Coralville, Iowa, and Steven, of Collierville, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Marion, and his wife of 42 years, Delilah.
