Harry Gunn Evans, 94, Vero Beach

Harry Gunn Evans, 94, of Vero Beach, died Sunday, June 5, 2011, at the VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach.

Evans was born Oct. 28, 1916, in Whitwell, Tenn., and moved here 30 years ago from Franklin Lakes, N.J.

He was a World War II Army veteran, a Georgia Tech alumni and ROTC member and worked as an engineer at Sam Braen Construction in Wyckoff, N.J.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Doris Evans of Vero Beach; daughter Jan Bott, of Pikeville, Tenn.; son Barry Evans, of Charleston, W.Va.; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Evans is predeceased by one son William Pope Evans.

No services are planned at this time.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice House, 1111 36th St Vero Beach 32960.

Arrangements are under the directions of Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Sebastian, Florida.
