Robert Perron, 77, Vero Beach

Robert Perron, 77, died May 28, 2011, at the VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.

He was born in New London, Conn., and lived in Vero Beach since 1970.

He served in the Navy during the Korean War.

He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dale Perron; daughter, Lynn Meadows, of Orlando; sister, Shirley Jengo, of Waterford, Conn.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ida and Joseph Perron; sisters, Olive DelGrosso, Lillian Capello and Peggy Healey; and brothers, Henry, Joseph and Gerald Perron.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

There will be a private memorial service at a later date.

Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach.

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. ‘Tragic, sudden loss,’ – Memorials emerge for teen killed in ATV crash

With the sudden death of Sebastian River High School student Jake Beecher still fresh, family, friends, teammates and coaches continue to come to terms with the tragic crash that took his life. ‘No swimming’ advisory lifted for beaches, officials say

VERO BEACH — Authorities lifted a 'no swimming' advisory for three local beaches Tuesday after test samples showed that bacteria returned to normal levels, health department and city officials said. The result means it was safe to return to the water Tuesday, Vero Beach city officials said. The advisory - which was in place for nearly a week - was issued Jan. 31 for South Beach, Humiston Beach and Sexton Plaza Beach after high levels of fecal-related bacteria were reported at the locations.
