Sebastian’s Park Place senior community named “Community of the Year”

SEBASTIAN – Park Place, a Solstice 55+ Lifestyle Community located in Sebastian, has been awarded the “Community of the Year (South)” award by the Manufactured Housing Institute.

The community and the company, American Land Lease, Inc., recently were recognized and presented with the award at the 2011 National Congress and Expo for Manufactured and Modular Housing in Las Vegas.

The award was accepted on behalf of the community by American Land Lease’s President and Chief Executive Officer, David B. Lentz.

“Park Place is a tremendous example of active 55-plus community living at its best, and we’re honored to be recognized for that,” said Lentz. “Park Place truly showcases the boundless energy and creativity of its residents, as well as the spirit of teamwork that is interwoven between our staff and the community’s residents.”

Park Place is a gated, master-planned land-lease community nestled in a peaceful, natural setting. Residents are able to enjoy a small-town neighborhood atmosphere, resort-style amenities, and the luxury of a low-maintenance lifestyle.

In addition, an event-filled social calendar ensures that residents can stay as active as they like, meet new friends and gather with old friends, remain fit, and be entertained each and every day.

Ted Pankiewicz, Community Manager, described the essence of Park Place and its residents: “The community is magnetic. Everyone that crosses the threshold of our clubhouse sees and feels the energy of this special group. It’s something that we’re very proud of, and in fact, Park Place has become known for that.”

Residents of Park Place relate to that uniqueness, too, including Pat and Mike Muller.

“It’s just like a vacation 365 days a year,” Mike Muller said. “Here, I find it unique because when someone here asks your name, they ask your first name. No last names. We’re all on a first-name basis here at Park Place.”

Jim and Jackie Hojnacki, also Park Place residents, agree and point toward the neighborly interaction among the group.

“Sure, we have family up north, but the community at Park Place – this is our family here,” said Jim Hojnacki. “We just love it.”

Residents welcome prospective home buyers and visitors with open arms, often inviting them to participate in the many community-sponsored events that occur throughout the year.

An average of 30 events and activities are scheduled every week, including dancing, special breakfasts and luncheons, old-fashioned picnics, bingo, aqua aerobics, water volleyball, pinochle, theme parties, live music events, theater performances, movie night, sunset pool parties, and many others.

In addition, a variety of clubs and organizations meet frequently, including the tennis league, Wii bowling league, dart baseball league, billiards league, theater club, book club, choir group, quilting club, bridge club, and golf league.

Park Place is one of the most active groups in the Solstice Communities portfolio.

“Our Solstice Communities brand, of which Park Place is a part, is known for providing an exceptional lifestyle, outstanding home value, and an unmatched customer experience,” added Lentz. “Once someone becomes one of our residents, we expect that their living experience will be exceptional. That’s part of our exclusive Good Neighbor Pledge, and our Park Place community is a great example of this promise in action.”

The Manufactured Housing Institute’s Community of the Year award is awarded to a handful of communities each year that represent the best-in-class for land-lease communities across the United States.
