Catch some summer sizzle at Latin Fiesta concert

VERO BEACH — The 70-piece Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will launch their Summer Concert Series with hot Latin Fiesta! on Sunday, June 5, 3 p.m. at the Community Church of Vero Beach.

This sizzling program reveals the soul of Latin music and begins with the thrilling rhythms and rich, exciting orchestration of George Gershwin’s Cuban Overture.  Jules Massenet’s ballet suite from the second act of his opera Le Cid is a picturesque tour of seven distinct regions of Spain.  Then virtuoso violinist Suliman Tekalli joins the orchestra to perform the Carmen Fantasy, one of the most famous and technically demanding works for the violin.

Finally, audiences will groove and move to Morton Gould’s Symphonette No. 4 (Latin American) and Alberto Ginastera’s romp, Danza Final.

“We are kicking off summer in a big way and can’t wait to perform in Vero Beach,” said Conductor Aaron Collins. “Each piece is full of exciting rhythms, colorful sounds, and fantastic invention.  And we have a rising young star in the music world joining us for this program, virtuoso violinist Suliman Tekalli.  His performance is guaranteed to leave the audience speechless!”

Tickets are $20 in advance and may be purchased online at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org, or at one of three Vero Beach ticket outlets: Marine Bank & Trust (beachside and mainland branches) and Madison Avenue Consignments.
