VERO BEACH – University of South Florida announced Wednesday they will hold camp at Vero Beach Sports Village for the second-straight season.
The Bulls report for fall camp Aug. 3 at USF, and will hold their first three practices on campus. They will arrive in Vero Beach on either Aug. 6 or 7 and leave Aug. 16 or 17. USF head coach Skip Holtz said his team was better for last year’s trip to Vero Beach, and he feels much the same way headed into summer.
“I think the trip to Vero Beach was a good trip for us,” Holtz said. “We got a lot done while we were there with zero distractions. We had classroom and walk-throughs in the morning, practices in the afternoons, and meetings at night. We were together for 10 days around-the-clock, with everyone sharing rooms and spending time together. The camaraderie and togetherness was very positive for us, and we got better because of it.”
There are three planned team scrimmages this summer for the Bulls, and the first one is Aug. 13 at Vero Beach Sports Village.
The Bulls will hold two others on campus, with the last one coming a week before traveling to play Notre Dame for the first game of the 2011 season.
