INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — With summer fast approaching and children and their families going hungry everyday here in Indian River County, the Harvest Food & Outreach Center is especially in need of volunteer helpers. The Center is about to launch some of the most important programs ever to help bring food, crisis care, education and hope to families in our community, but can’t do so without your continued support.
Volunteer positions include:
Education Class Facilitator – Teaches one of our classes to clients needing help with money management, relationships, healthy eating and lifestyles and more.
Food/Clothing Drive Advocate – Coordinates food, clothing and household item drives in their church, company or community to put in our emergency food box pantry and thrift center to be used for families in crisis during the summer months.
Food Pantry Worker – Helps by sorting and cleaning our emergency food pantry.
Event Advocate – Helps by working at our upcoming campus tours twice a month and other vital events.
Front Desk – Works at the front desk greeting families and giving them information about our programs.
