Lois Smith, 77, of Vero Beach, died Monday, April 18, 2011, at VNA Hospice House.
She was born May 29, 1933, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the first child of John and Margaret Agnew. She had been a resident of Florida since 1973.
Lois became the wife of Dr. George Thomas Smith on Dec. 17, 1955, and was his partner in ministry for more than 55 years.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Vero Beach.
Survivors include her husband, George Thomas Smith, of Vero Beach; children, Sheri Lois Cook, of Crystal Lake, Ill., and Sheldon Thomas Smith, of Englewood; siblings, Peggy Springer and Charles Agnew; and her grandchildren include Jonathan and Alissa Cook and Sean Smith.
She was predeceased by her brother, Larry Agnew.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Grace Baptist Church, Vero Beach.
