Cecil Weinman Poston Jr., 82, Vero Beach

Cecil Weinman Poston Jr., 82, died May 6, 2011.

He was born in Lynchburg, Va., and lived in Vero Beach. He was a Navy and Navy Reserves veteran with more than 37 years of service.

Before retirement, he was the manager of laboratories in the Department of Engineering at the University of Central Florida.

He was a member of the Shriner’s and the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Kathleen McGinnis Poston, of Vero Beach; brother, Robert C. Poston, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; daughters, Cathleen Lindberg, of Vero Beach, Cecilia Poston Ortiz, of Diamond Bar, Calif., and Valerie Bunting, of Tavares; son, Kevin Poston, of Orlando; and a grandchild.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. May 15 at the First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach, followed by a gathering in the Eleanor T. Smith lounge.
