Betty Swords Dezzutti, 91, of Vero Beach, died Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Palm Garden of Vero Beach.
Dezzutti was born April 26, 1920, in Peoria, Ill., and moved to Vero Beach in 1945 from her place of birth.
She had worked for Swords Brothers in Vero Beach and then worked as the executive secretary for the Mosquito Control District of Indian River County prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vero Beach where she served on the Altar Guild, of which she was the chairperson for many years.
Dezzutti was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 135 and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Vero Beach.
Survivors include her daughter Nancy S. Bucklew, of Vero Beach; son John P. Dezzutti, III, of Lakeside, Conn.; sister Jane Hailey, of Vero Beach; and six grandchildren Sandra Bucklew, of Crown Point, Ind., Russell Bucklew, of Boca Raton, and Rachyl, Rory, Riley and Ryah Dezzutti, of Lakeside, Conn.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years John P. Dezzutti.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2011, at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach with Eastern Star Honors at 7 PM.
A life celebration service will take place 10 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Vero Beach.
