Charles L. Viens, 87, died April 30, 2011 at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.
He was born in Fall River, Mass., and lived in Vero Beach for 27 years, coming from Swansea, Mass. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, the Korean and Vietnam wars.
He worked for ICI Americas (now AstraZeneca) in Dighton, Mass., for 24 years.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach, the Navy Fleet Reserve, St. Vincent De Paul Society, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and the Royal Travelers, all of Swansea.
He was vice president of St. Michael’s Credit Union, Swansea.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Theresa Viens, of Vero Beach; sons, Charles L. Viens Jr., of Easton, Conn., Michael A. Viens, of Westport, Mass., and Paul J. Viens, of Putnam Valley, N.Y.; daughters, Catherine A. Viens, of Providence, R.I., Christine A. Viens, of San Francisco and Barbara J. Trumble, of Vero Beach; sisters, Jacqueline Hasson, of Westport and Jeannette Ferreira, of Swansea; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
