Treasure Coast Chorale “Goes Country” May 22

VERO BEACH — In its last performance of the season, the 75-voice Treasure Coast Chorale will be showcasing its versatility with an all-new presentation called “Take Me Home, Country Roads.”

The concert will take place at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 22 at the First Baptist Church in Vero Beach.

“If you love the music of Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash and John Denver, you will really love this concert,” said Michael Carter, Music Director and Conductor of the Chorale. “We’ll be singing all of the different genres of great American country music including country and western, old-time country, country gospel, and today’s contemporary. This includes Hey, Good Lookin, Mule Train, Rocky Mountain High, Nine to Five, and Sweet By and By, among others.”

The talented special guests who have been invited for this evening include Joanna Hinkle who was a former Nashville recording artist, guitarist Dave Mundy and drummer Richie Mola in their cowboy characterizations, a country fiddler and a banjo musician, and “the Dolls” oldies trio. The piano accompaniment will be provided by Judy Carter and the audience will be able to provide its own “twangy” music during the sing-along portion of the concert.

Doors will open for seating at 6 p.m. and the audience is encouraged to arrive early as most of the recent TCC concerts have been SRO.

There is no admission charge but the audience will be asked to give a generous offering to help offset the costs of this musical gift to the community.
