Treasure Shores Beach to close April 18 for beach project

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – Treasure Shores Beach Park will be closed beginning April 18.

The closure is due to the construction work being done to rebuild the beach and dunes.

The park is expected to reopen on May 1.

Also closed is Golden Sands Park, just north of Orchid. The park, too, will reopen after April 30.

SEBASTIAN — A 70-year-old Brevard County man was critically injured after being struck by a pickup truck while walking across U.S. 1 last week, fire rescue crews and sheriff's officials said. County announces beach closures ahead of beach restoration project

At least two beaches will be closed starting this weekend ahead of the beach restoration project, which will start back up next week, county officials said. The project aims to restore sand - which had been washed away by storms and hurricanes over the years - at the beaches. Beach park access at Seagrape Trail Beach Access and Treasure Shores Park Beach will both close starting Friday, county officials said. 41st Street to close next week for construction

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A contractor will close 41st Street next week to construct a turning lane for a future subdivision, county officials said. The contractor will close 41st Street from Aug. 23 to Aug. 27, authorities said. 41st Street will be blocked between Indian River Boulevard and U.S. 1. The lane closure was expected to bring periodic traffic delays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., officials said.
