George W. Potter, 71, died April 13, 2011, at Lawnwood Regional Hospital in Fort Pierce.
He was born in New York, and lived in Vero Beach for 12 years, coming from Fulton, Md.
He served in the Army.
He was a member of the Treasure Coast Corral, the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, and was an elder and choir member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sebastian.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth; daughters, Tina Potter-Gibbins, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Karen Potter-Johnson, of Vero Beach; sons, John Humphries of Frederick, Md., Ronald Humphries, of Laurel, Md., Lionel Humphries, of Fairfax, Va., and Karl Potter, of Rockville, Md.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. April 15 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. April 16 at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Sebastian.
