Mary Thomas Peterson, 91, of Wabasso, died Monday March 28, 2011, at Palm Gardens of Vero Beach.
She was born on Feb. 29, 1920, in Americus, Ga.
She has been a resident of Indian River County for fifty five years.
She was a member of St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as mother of the church and an elder.
Survivors include her son, Noriga Thompson, of Tampa; brother, Arthur Thomas, of Wabasso; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allison “Jack” Peterson, parents, James and Ossie Lee Thomas.
Visitation will be held at 1:30- 2:30p.m. and a funeral service will begin at 2:30p.m., Saturday April 9, 2011 at St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church, Wabasso.
Burial will follow at Wabasso Cemetery, Wabasso.
