VERO BEACH — Dog owners and on-lookers will want to get to the Festival early this year for the inaugural Easter Bonnet Doggie Parade, to be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Hibiscus Festival, Saturday, April 16 on 14th Avenue in historic downtown Vero Beach.
Presented by Dogs for Life and sponsored by the Florida Veterinary League, doggies of all sizes and their owners are invited to participate in the parade. Registration is $5 and begins at 8:30 a.m. in the parking lot behind the Heritage Center. Bring your pet and get in the spirit of the theme, as dogs don bonnets with the symbolic hibiscus flower, real or artificial, and proudly walk the parade route along 14th Avenue.
Each dog will receive a special gift for participating and free “poop bags” will be on hand for everyone’s convenience. You and your dog will be introduced to the audience, so please be prepared to share something special about your dog that everyone might want to know.
Register to win a “Doggie Bag” filled with special gifts from your friends at the Florida Veterinary League. Also register to win One Year Free at the Dogs for Life Dog Park (for an inoculated, neutered and social dog).
When the parade is over, feel free to enjoy all the festival activities, including a pancake breakfast and assorted food booths, lovely music, marketplace vendors, children’s activities and so much more throughout the day, concluding with an exciting Evening Street Party from 5:30 to 8: 30 p.m.
The Hibiscus Festival is presented by Main Street Vero Beach and the City of Vero Beach to benefit Main Street Vero Beach and Vero Heritage, Inc.
