Rebecca “Becky” Duys Johnson, 89, of Vero Beach, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at VNA Hospice House.
She was born Dec. 18, 1921 in Montclair, N.J. and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 20 years, coming from Syosset, N.Y.
Johnson was a member of St. Augustine Episcopal Church, American Contract Bridge League, Rio Mar Yacht Club and Vero Beach Yacht Club.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Hugh G. Johnson in 1998; son, Hugh G. Johnson, Jr. in 2010; brothers Henry Duys and David Duys.
Survivors include by sons Timothy Johnson (Linda McDonald), of West Palm Beach, Henry Johnson (Connie Johnson), of San Diego, Ca., and Ian Johnson (Angelo D’Amico), of Pittsford, N.Y.; grandchildren Hugh III, Lisa, Rebecca, Timothy, Andrew, Zachary, and Philip; and by three great grandchildren; close friend, Sam Kreps, of Vero Beach and sister, Tiny Smith, of Huntington, N.Y.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
