Edith M. Emmel, 89, died March, 13, 2011, at VNA Hospice, Vero Beach.
She was born in Darby, Pa., and lived in Cherry Hill, N.J., until her retirement to Florida in 1984.
She was a graduate of Immaculata College in Pennsylvania.
Before retirement, she was a math teacher for more than 20 years at Cherry Hill High School West.
She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Maryrita Eddleman, of Kinnelon, N.J., and Michele Mutchler, of Vero Beach; sons, Martin Emmel, of Stratford, N.J., Matthew Emmel, of Severna Park, Md., and Michael Emmel, of Cherry Hill; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mulford Emmel Jr.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. March 21 at Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. March 21 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach, with interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce.
