Lots of entertainment will be on hand during the Indian River County Firefighter’s Fair. From a firefighter training show and a magician performing illusions to musical performances, hypnotisms, and blacksmith demonstrations, there’s more to do at the fair than eat and brave the rides.

Firefighter Training Show to the Rescue: The fire fighter show, brought to you by, is a great family oriented show and entertaining kids event in central and the eastern United States. What child hasn’t wanted to become a fireman and be part of a fire fighter demonstration / show? The fire fighter training show gives kids this chance. The fire fighter training show was created to be both entertaining and educational. Some lucky audience members get to be the fire fighters in each show while all the kids are encouraged to practice life saving skills “Don’t Hide, Get Outside” “Crawl Low, Under Smoke.” www.firefightershow.com.

Marcus Magic Show: Award winning magician Steven Marcus fills the bill with entertainment that attracts crowds, holds their attention and fascinates fairgoers of all ages.  Equally skilled at slight of hand and larger illusions, Steven Marcus brings elegance, class and a sly sense of humor to his family friendly shows. Sophie B. Hawkins in concert: March 16, 8 p.m. She emerged in 1992 with a fierce bidding war for her debut album, Tongues & Tails. The Columbia Records release quickly went gold, earned her a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, and fired a single, “Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover”, into the Top Five. Another gold album, Whaler, followed two years later along with the single, “As I Lay Me Down” that would chart in Billboard for a record-breaking sixty-seven weeks. August 2006 saw the release of her debut live album, the Bad Kitty Board Mix. Recorded in Seattle, the two-disc set captured the true energy and essence of Sophie as a performer. In her words, “This live album is primarily a gift to my fans. Beyond that, it’s a gift to myself–in that I am finally comfortable with who I am REALLY as a musician, as a storyteller/improviser and as a living the moment creative human.”

Gatorblues has been performing at venues and special events throughout Florida since 2002. They offer a blend of Blues favorites, as well as Classic and Southern Rock. Gatoblues is: Walt “Gator” Milton – Lead Guitar/Vocals; Jack “Bubba” Childs – Lead Vocals/Guitar; Pat Klise – Drums/Vocals; Lee Miller – Bass/Vocals.

All About Nothing: The Premier Rock and Roll, New Kickin Country, Blues and R&B Band in Brevard County Featuring Julia Faith (lead vocals & rhythm guitar), Rich Andrews (drums & percussion), Craig Covert (lead vocals & lead guitar), Bart Carter (bass & back up vocals), and Skip Gosnell (lead guitar & vocals). Brevard Live magazine’s July 2008 issue describes All About Nothing as being all about something, and a quality act.

The Catch Band: Florida’s Premier Rock, Classic Rock, & Blues Band

Rust & Flame Blacksmith Demonstrations: As Blacksmith Demonstrators, Marvin and Beverly Gardner provide educational entertainment for all ages. Spectators may purchase a “blank” and become Marvin’s apprentice. The apprentice then turns the handle on the 100 year old blower providing oxygen for the forge. In the forge, the blank becomes a red hot iron and all watch as Marvin forges the small piece of steel into a miniature horseshoe. Beverly then takes the apprentice’s horseshoe and converts it into a souvenir necklace or key chain. Rust and Flame provides priceless expressions on the faces of our apprentices of all ages participating in an historical creative activity.

Off The Chain, Wood Carving: Mike Ashcroft a Vero Beach local performs 3 shows daily entertaining visitors at the fair. Mike is well known for his carving talents and receives a warm welcome each time he starts the saw. His skill and a keen eye to detail shows every time. Mike’s work is always for sale at completion. But hurry, his carvings won’t last long because buyers purchase them so fast.

Simon Sez Comedy Hypnosis Show: It’s non-stop laughter as volunteers from the audience are hypnotized right before your eyes and soon become the STARS of the show! If you volunteer, be warned: What you don’t remember, your friends will never forget! www.hypnopro.com.

Michael Hyde: The primary instrument of Michael Hyde is the Great Highland Bagpipe which is the one most people are familiar with. It is very loud and powerful and meant to be played outdoors or in large buildings. Mike also plays the Irish Shuttle Pipe, which is relatively quiet with a very nice warm sound. DURTY DINGUS: 5-time clown act of the year, motor sports clown, rodeo clown, and festival and fair entertainer. Dingus has a wide variety of crazy vehicles, including “SWAMP THANG” which is a youngins size monster truck, built right here in Fellsmere.  Also look for the largest golf cart in the world, mini race cars, jet engine mini chopper, and other surprises.  He also has a very unique collection of animals, which has been featured “Americas funniest animals” including the Million Dollar Chicken.
