Daniel Wayne “Boonie” Vogelsong, 57, died Feb. 24, 2011, in his home.
He was born in Defiance, Ohio, and lived in Vero Beach.
He was a night-shift employee in the stockroom of Walmart.
He retired as a first sergeant in the Army after more than 20 years of service.
Survivors include his children, Chelsea Pavlovsky, of Cibolo, Texas, Joshua Vogelsong, of Washington D.C., and Reanne and David Vogelsong, both of Wellington; brothers, Roger Vogelsong, of Defiance, Ohio and Michael Vogelsong, of Fort Apache, Okla.; sisters, Deborah Smith, of Defiance, Ohio, Diane Schaper, of Woodburn, Ind., and Julie Mijatovich, of New Haven Ind.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth; stepmother, Leota; and brother, Robert.
Services will be at 1 p.m. March 2 at the Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth.
Burial will follow with full military honors at the South Florida National Cemetery adjacent to the chapel at 2:15 p.m.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the chapel prior to the service.
