Dana E. Warren, 81, of Vero Beach, Avon, Connecticut, and Lake Sebago, Maine, died on Feb. 6, 2011, in Brookdale Place, West Hartford, Ct..
He was born in Portland, Maine, the son of Carroll R. Warren and Ida Ingerson.
He grew up in Maine and graduated from the University of Maine.
There he met and later married Beth Elaine(Chick) Burke.
They lived in Hawaii for two years where he served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Returning home, he maintained a long and productive career as a financial and estate planner in the insurance industry, retiring from Travelers Insurance in 1989.
He was an accomplished and enthusiastic sportsman excelling in tennis, skiing, golf and boating.
He enjoyed the company of his many friends at the Grand Harbor, Oak Harbor, Avon and Gorham Country Clubs.
Survivors include his wife of seven years, Jean Armstrong; his friend George Grey; four devoted children, Marc (Karie), Dana E. Jr., Christopher (Linette), and Abby Warren; five grandchildren Melissa, Samantha, Andrew, Dana E. III (Trip), and Katherine.
A memorial service will be held in Connecticut.
A donation may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Vero Beach Museum of Art.
