Joseph Truman, 81, of Vero Beach, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Truman was born July 11, 1929 in Hamilton, Ohio and moved to Vero Beach 21 years ago from Leesburg, Va.
He had been the director of purchasing for Magnavox prior to his retirement.
Truman was a graduate of the University of Dayton and had served in the US Army.
He was of the Protestant faith and had been a member of Sandridge Golf Club in Indian River County and the Elks Lodge in Ft. Pierce.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Joyce Truman, of Vero Beach; son Tim Truman, of Vero Beach; daughter Jill Truman, of Vero Beach; two granddaughters Sally Ann (Matthew) Hite, of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jenna Marie Altha, of Vero Beach; and a great-grandson Matty of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
A memorial celebration will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at the Garden Grove Club House in Vero Beach.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach, Florida.
