VERO BEACH — “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling, Part 4” will be sung by the 75-voice Treasure Coast Chorale in its third concert of the season on Sunday, March 13 with two performances, at 3 and at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 2206 16th Ave., Vero Beach. “As the title indicates, this is the fourth time we’ve presented a concert of the beautiful music of Ireland in our nine years as a community concert group,” says Michael Carter, Music Director of the chorale. “Our audiences dearly love to hear the lilting Irish folk tunes such as Danny Boy, Go, Lassie, Go, Wearing of the Green, and Cockles and Mussels.”
Music that reflects the deep spirituality of that country also will be featured as well as selections from the “TCC Irish Tenors” and gifted soloists, and the popular oldies trio “The Dolls” who will perform a special Irish blessing.
Piano accompanist Judy Carter, organist Brady Johnson, guitarist Dave Mundy, drummer Richie Mola, flautist Emilio Rutllant and bagpiper Michael Hyde (matinee only) will add their unique talents to the program and as always, the audience will be invited to sing along with some familiar favorites.
Doors will open for seating at 2 p.m. for the matinee concert and at 6 p.m. for the evening concert. The audience is encouraged to arrive early as most of the recent TCC concerts have been SRO.
There is no admission charge but the audience will be asked to give a generous offering to help offset the costs of this musical gift to the community. The last concert of the TCC season will be “Take Me Home, Country Roads!” on May 22 at 7 p.m.
