VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Elks Lodge # 1774 is the proud sponsor of the Second Annual Indian River County Saint Patrick’s Parade, scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 19. The parade will be held in Downtown Vero Beach starting at 17th Street, and heading to 14th Avenue where it will continue north on 14th Avenue and dispersing at the Community Center. This year’s parade Grand Marshal will be Indian River Commission Chairman Bob Solari. Over the years Solari has served on the Indian River County Commission, the Vero Beach City Council, and as a member of the Vero Beach Planning and Zoning Board. He has also been employed in for 24 years in citrus and real estate businesses in Indian River County.
Solari is a member of the Leadership Florida Class XXV, and is the first elected official from Indian River County to have graduated from Leadership Florida. The Leadership’s mission is to build a strong diverse statewide network of leaders, with a shared commitment to connect our communities and to make Florida a better place in which to live and prosper.
Solari holds a law degree from Fordham University in New York, an Honor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Denver, Colorado, and a degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina. Grand Marshal Solari was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised on Long Island New York, and has been married to Jackie Solari for 23 happy years.
The Vero Beach Elks Lodge # 1774 is proud to have Bob Solari as its 2011 Saint Patrick’s Parade Grand Marshal.
Following the Parade there will be an open house at the Elks Lodge, 1350 26th Street (one block east of U.S. 1). Refreshments will be available and entertainment will be provided by the Tommy Doyle Band.
