VERO BEACH — The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVB & IRC) is holding a Snip ‘n’ Chip” campaign to sterilize microchip and vaccinate one hundred Indian River County cats for $25 each. Snip ‘n’ Chip vouchers will provide a brief exam, spay or neuter surgery, a microchip and a rabies vaccine to fifty female cats and fifty male cats. Snip ‘n Chip vouchers will be available on a first come, first serve basis only, from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 22 at The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County, 6230 77th St., Vero Beach. Cats need not be present when vouchers are issued since surgeries will be scheduled in March.
The vouchers are only available to Indian River County residents and their cats. Voucher recipients must bring proof of county residency, pay by cash, credit or debit card and agree to have all services performed unless they can supply proof of a current rabies vaccination, and a microchip is detected.
The HSVB & IRC “Snip ‘n’ Chip” voucher promotion is being held on February 22 as part of Spay Day USA, a national campaign to encourage the spaying and neutering of all companion animals.
Ten Indian River County donors, wishing to remain anonymous, pledged funds to make the “Snip ‘n’ Chip” promotion possible. Their generous pledge was made out of a concern for the number of homeless cats throughout Indian River County.
