Kimberly Della Showalter-Ayerdis, 47, Vero Beach

Kimberly Della Showalter-Ayerdis, 47, died Feb. 2, 2011, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.

She was born in Miami and lived in Vero Beach since 2004, coming from Miami.

Survivors include her mother, Roslyn Showalter; husband, Tony Ayerdis; sons, Alex and Adam Ayerdis; and sister, Kerrie Hlavaty.

She was preceded in death by her father, Forrest P. Showalter Jr.; sister, Karen Rebecca Showalter; and son, Korrington Tyler Showalter.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shyne Foundation, P.O. Box 641032, Miami, FL 33154.

A celebration of her life will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 5 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home, Vero Beach.

Interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach.

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. ‘Tragic, sudden loss,’ – Memorials emerge for teen killed in ATV crash

With the sudden death of Sebastian River High School student Jake Beecher still fresh, family, friends, teammates and coaches continue to come to terms with the tragic crash that took his life. ‘No swimming’ advisory lifted for beaches, officials say

VERO BEACH — Authorities lifted a 'no swimming' advisory for three local beaches Tuesday after test samples showed that bacteria returned to normal levels, health department and city officials said. The result means it was safe to return to the water Tuesday, Vero Beach city officials said. The advisory - which was in place for nearly a week - was issued Jan. 31 for South Beach, Humiston Beach and Sexton Plaza Beach after high levels of fecal-related bacteria were reported at the locations.
