Barbara Breede Rorick, 64, died Feb. 1, 2011.
She was born in White Plains, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach for seven years, coming from Bethel, Conn.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from the Manhattanville College, Purchase, N.Y.
Before retirement, she taught computer science at St. Mary School in Bethel for 17 years.
She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach, where she was a member of the Council of Catholic Women.
She was a member of the Indian River Geneology Society and served as an auxiliary at the Indian River Medical Center’s Thrift Store.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, John Rorick, of Vero Beach; sons, John Rorick Jr., of Nesconset, N.Y., and Kevin Rorick and Patrick Rorick, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; daughter, Jennifer Reilly, of Reading, Mass.; brothers, Walter Breede III, of Jupiter and Matthew Breede, of Newport, R.I.; sisters, Ellen Secrest, of Jupiter and Nancy Quick, of Phoenix, Md.; and five grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Walter Breede Jr. Scholarship Fund at Westchester Community College, 75 Grasslands Road, Valhalla, NY 10595.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Feb. 6 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach, with a prayer service following at 5 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Feb. 7 at St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
