Elizabeth Cross, 86, of Vero Beach, died Jan. 22, 2011.
She was the wife of the late George H. Cross.
Cross was originally from Garden City, N.Y., and she attended Eden Hall, a Sacred Heart Academy, near Philadephia, Pa.
She spent most of her childhood and early married life in Dubois, Wyo., and she never lost her love for the West.
She first came to Vero in 1951 and was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Cross was an accomplished painter of portraits, native American subjects, and other impressionistic themes; she owned and operated Tim’s Drawing Room, a gallery of paintings and needlepoint for a number of years.
She will be remembered as a delightful person who would always light up a room with her laughter, positive attitude and her zest for life.
Survivors include her four children Anne Touchton (Ed), of Linden, Tenn., Mugs Holifield (Al), of Vero Beach, Mally Paquette (Brien), of Vero Beach and, Michael Cross (Cynthia), of Memphis, Tenn.; grandchildren Buffie Henderson, Cristina Angeli, Walton Touchton, Elizabeth Touchton, Carol Touchton, Kristopher Jarvis, Leslie Paquette, Sarah Paquette, Michael Cross, Jr., and William Cross; and six great- grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan.25, 2011.
The family will receive friends after the service in the parish hall at Trinity.
